March 12

A gas station on South Main Street received eight to 10 harassing phone calls in a one-hour time span, all racially motivated, according to a report from the New Castle Police Department. The caller, who attempted to disguise his voice, accused the store of being prejudiced. Police were not able to make contact with the caller. 

The back window of a vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Cottage Ave. was shattered, causing $700 damages. 

A front window of a home in the 1000 block of Morton St. was broken. 

March 13

Dean Fisher, 47, was arrested and preliminarily charged with public intoxication and possession of marijuana. 

Arrest information, including the name, age, address and criminal charges, are obtained from police media reports. All suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in court.

A girl – Emberly Mae Marlatt, weighing 6 pounds, 11.8 ounces and measuring 18 inches long, was born on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Henry Community Health to Riley Marlatt and Kylie Barber of Spiceland.
