New Castle-Henry County Public Library makes an impact

Dear Editor,

As the nation concludes National Library Week, it’s a great time to reflect on how your New Castle-Henry County Public Library is making an impact in this area.

New Bookmobile – Our new bookmobile hit the road about a year ago and serves as a “mobile branch” of our library by making approximately 42 visits around the county each month.

Mobile Hotspots – One of our newest services is mobile internet hotspots that can be checked out for a week at a time. The hotspots provide unlimited data and 4G data speeds to those who may not have access to a reliable internet connection.

Updated TeenScape – Thanks in part to a grant from the Henry County Community Foundation and Wal-Mart, teens have a newly renovated area at the library. TeenScape is open during after-school hours on most days, and activities like “Make It” sessions and gaming sessions.

Free Events – Our calendar boasts events for all ages and interest levels. In addition to the activities happening in TeenScape, the library offers events for families in the Children’s Library, and a broad range of programs designed for adults.

Books, Music, and Movies – We have a collection of materials on our shelves and available virtually using online services like Overdrive, Hoopla, and Tumble Book Library. We checked out 283,908 items last year alone, saving our patrons the cost and inconvenience of purchasing the items they were able to borrow from the library’s collection.

And More – I could continue on and share about our Indiana Room (genealogy/local history), Friends of the Library book sale room, seed library, computer lab, and more, but that may take a while. Instead, why don’t you stop by the New Castle-Henry County Public Library and explore for yourself? We can’t wait to see you!

Sincerely,

Winnie Logan
